more):
- Core Staff Education
- Emmaus of Santa Barbara’s CORE Staff Education and Formation program is an extensive, yearlong program designed to immerse participants in the Emmaus philosophy while providing them with the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to prepare them for leadership roles within other Emmaus programs including Team Leadership and Project Insight.
- Team Leadership
- Each year, the Emmaus of Santa Barbara Team Leadership Program offers scholarships to about 50 college students invited to participate in its leadership training and character formation program. The program, in its Fifteenth year, seeks students with a strong commitment to personal growth and character development who wish to assume leadership positions within Emmaus of Santa Barbara. Over the course of the academic year, student leaders are required to complete Emmaus of Santa Barbara Team Leadership Curriculum, participate in program activities, and act as campus leaders.
- Project Insight
- Project Insight is a Life Management System that begins with a three day
mountain retreat experience and continues with a variety
of structured activities and workshops designed to give
participants profound insights that will plant the
seeds of choice and responsibility deep within their consciousness.
The program is designed to foster the exploration and practice
of personal and inter-personal growth while establishing
a viable community of support for college students.
- Lane
Change
- After some people break the cycle of primary addictions and other destructive behaviors, they find themselves faced with other challenges dealing with maintaining behavior and lifestyle changes. This is where Lane Change comes in. Lane Change has been designed by Emmaus of Santa Barbara both for individual and family participation in a 24-session program designed to empower participants to make effective and lasting behavior changes in their lives.
-
Aftercare & Relapse Prevention
- Emmaus of Santa Barbara’s Aftercare & Relapse Prevention program offers a solution to addiction that is holistic in its approach. Notice we said “a” solution, not “the” solution. We are very much aware that there are so many programs available to help solve this huge problem amongst our young people. Our program offers no shortcuts or quick fixes. It is intensive in depth and extensive in scope.
- Operation:
Break the Cycle!
- Emmaus of Santa Barbara’s Operation: Break the Cycle! is a program designed for “at risk” high school teens. Designed in close collaboration with the local area’s high schools, it specifically targets seriously “at risk” and delinquent high school students who have been in trouble with the law, juvenile authorities and probation and school officials.
- Turning
Point
- Every one of us experiences moments of crisis in our lives where we are required to make difficult choices, and for a teenager or young adult, this period of decision-making is critical, because if the decision made is not the correct one, his or her life may take a devastating, tragic, or even fatal turn. We believe that young people who are struggling with these overwhelming emotional challenges should have a place where they can come to be heard and someone who will listen with compassion through this difficult crossroad. We call this place, and the people who listen, Turning Point.
- Marriage Preparation
- Emmaus of Santa Barbara’s new program Marriage Preparation has been designed to help participants prepare and build a solid foundation for a successful marriage. The program is open to alumni who are engaged and are planning to get married within a year, and will cover a wide array of topics including self-awareness, acceptance, and forgiveness that are vital for maintaining both a healthy and lasting marriage.
- Higher Consciousness
- Emmaus of Santa Barbara’s new Higher Consciousness program is designed to introduce participants to more effective ways of living and to encourage them towards living a “well-examined life,” one in which they are able to address the larger personal, interpersonal, and communal needs surrounding them while moving away from the self-centered realm of the Ego.
- Life-Giving Community
- Emmaus of Santa Barbara’s new program Live-Giving Community provides participants with life approaches to creating, nurturing, and sustaining viable communities where the individuals therein are respected and provided with opportunities for self-fulfillment.
