Programs

Emmaus provides quality transformational programs and services to people seeking a better, healthier life.

The following five programs constitute Emmaus of Santa Barbara (click to learn more):

  • Project Insight
    • Project Insight is a Life Management System that begins with a three day mountain retreat experience and continues with a variety of structured activities and workshops designed to give participants profound insights that will plant the seeds of choice and responsibility deep within their consciousness. The program is designed to foster the exploration and practice of personal and inter-personal growth while establishing a viable community of support for college students.
  • Team Leadership Training
    • The Team Leadership program is specifically designed for young college adults who have successfully completed the self-esteem and self-worth program & training workshops. It is a unique program which offers intensive, practical and experiential leadership and character development training to individuals who have made a commitment to help others turn away from self destructive, addictive and abusive behaviors.

  • Core Staff Education

  • Aftercare & Relapse Prevention
    • Aftercare & Relapse Prevention offers a solution to addiction that is holistic in its approach. Notice we said “a” solution, not “the” solution. We are very much aware that there are many programs available to help solve this huge problem amongst our young people. Our program offers no shortcuts or quick fixes. It is intensive in depth and extensive in scope. Aftercare & Relapse Prevention Program has been designed specifically to target alumni of any of our five major programs as well as current program participants who have come to the realization of this dangerous problem in their lives and the lives of significant family members.
  • Lane Change
    • This program is designed both for individual and family participation. This 24 session program empowers participants to make effective and lasting behavioral changes in their lives. The process gives participants the skills and tools to remove blocks to emotional well-being, self-acceptance, positive relationships, self-fulfillment, and true happiness. The technology used in this program is designed to help participants release past hurts, facilitate inner healing, and develop an inner dialogue with their highest self. The result is a more integrated and balanced life, peace with themselves and reinvigorated life energy and enthusiasm.

  • Turning Point
    • Emmaus of Santa Barbara offers workshops, conferences, guidance and direction and group sessions which explore specific issues, challenges or topics.

We believe that young people who are struggling with these overwhelming emotional challenges should have a place where they can come to be heard--and someone who will listen in confidence and help guide them with compassion through this difficult crossroad. We call this place--and the people who listen--Turning Point.

  • Operation: Break the Cycle!
    • OPERATION: BREAK THE CYCLE! is designed for “at risk” high school teens. Designed in close collaboration with the local area’s high schools, it specifically targets seriously “at risk” and delinquent high school students who have been in trouble with the law, juvenile authorities and probation and school officials. Offenses include, but are not limited to: drug and alcohol abuse, sexual offenses, truancy, gang violence, and theft. Most of these youngsters have been in trouble repeatedly and see no way out of their problems. This program helps them to break the cycle of destructive behavior by providing them the tools and skills necessary to be productive and constructive members of society.
"Give yourself permission to become the person you were mean to be, and to stop trying to be the person you think others expect you to be."
