Letter
from the T.A.P. Coordinator
Dear T.A.P.
Student,
We are writing
to inform you of a life changing college experience available to
you. The Transfer Achievement Program and Emmaus of Santa Barbara
have teamed up to give you the opportunity to participate in Project
Insight. Project Insight kicks off with a free three-day weekend
retreat at Camp Whittier. This intensive weekend is designed to
set the foundation for your participation in Project Insight.
During the retreat
you will participate in sessions where you will:
- Take a personal
inventory of concerns that you have at this stage in your life
followed by identifying your self-worth
- Learn to
understand your behavior and feelings by self-awareness exercises
and how others in your life contribute to or take away from living
your best self
- Focus on
self-responsibility by confronting your fears and learning how
to deal with them
- Get real
with yourself, for yourself by working on self-development and
acknowledging your character defects to gain truth and clarity
about yourself and your life
- Be challenged
to change, to grow, to evolve because your choices create you.
You will need to remember that what happens in you is more important
than what happens to you.
Project Insight
is a Life-Management Program designed by Emmaus to help you foster
the exploration and practice of personal and inter-personal growth,
while establishing a viable community of support for college students.
Project Insight helps you to achieve personal and academic success
in today’s society.
We hope you
will join Project Insight for an invaluable opportunity to gain
new insights into your self, your relationships, and your worldview.
If you are interested in participating in Project Insight (and we
hope you are!) please request an Expression of Interest Card and
Application & Registration Form from the Transfer Center, SS-140.
If you have any questions please contact TAP staff via e-mail: tap@sbcc.edu
or call us at (805) 965-0581 ext. 2547. You may also contact Emmaus
directly at (805) 569-8830 or via e-mail:
info@emmaus-sb.org.
Sincerely,
Francisco Dorame
